Born in China and raised in East San Jose, Bay Area rapper 'Jody Loud' began writing rhymes in 10th grade, starting his initial ascent as a comedic rapper known for parodies and freestyle cyphers.

In college, he continued his comedic rhymes but began exploring deeper ideas thematically, reinventing himself on the local slam poetry circuit. Eventually, he released his first widely received song, the racially-tinged 'Because I'm Asian'.

He went on to release a series of mixtapes between 2010 - 2016.

A near-fatal car crash in 2012 and a 2014 stint in rehab further inspired him to become a 'serious' and socially impactful rapper, creating freshly inspirational music that spoke on behalf of other people.

His second mixtape 'The Last Summer' was released in 2014 and featured an assist from local rap technician Son Chau, whose politicized rhymes carried the lead single 'Whose World Is This'.

In 2021, Jody dropped his debut full-length album 'ZOMBIE' upon the world. He is now in the process of preparing his second album 'JODY', set to release in 2026.
